In conversation with Pietro Marino
In occasion of the 80th anniversary of Pino Pascali’s birth, on the 24th of October at 6 pm, the Pino Pascali Foundation hosts the presentation of Valérie Da Costa’s book Pino Pascali. Retour à la Méditerranée (Les Presses du Reél, 2015). This is the first monograph dedicated to Pino Pascali that has ever been written in French. The author is an art historian specialized in Italian sculpture. She teaches at the Strasbourg University and is a curator at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Among her more recent publications we find Ecrits de Lucio Fontana, also published by Les Presses du Reél.
The event will see Valérie Da Costa engaged in conversation with Pietro Marino, journalist and art critic for Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno. It will take place in the Literary Cafè of the SAC project- Seas Between Walls- at the Pino Pascali Museum in occasion of the exhibition “Dialogues. Pino Pascali and Agostino Bonalumi, Enrico Castellani, Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni” curated by Rosalba Branà and Roberto Lacarbonara.
During the course of the evening the documentary “On Pino Pascali’s footsteps” will also be shown. This is produced by arTVision – a live art channel in 2014, and tells about the first steps taken by Valérie Da Costa into her research during her stay in Polignano a Mare at the Pino Pascali Foundation and in places that were dear to the artist.
