A new challenge to face for Pino Pascali Foundation with CRAFT-LAB Project, Residences on the way from products to the Adri-Ionian design”, financed by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014 2020.
Pino Pascali Foundation is the lead beneficiary of this project in cooperation with two Italian partners the National Confederation of crafts and small and medium-sized enterprises Association of Bari, (C.N.A. Bari) and Puglia Region, Department of Economic Development, Education, Training and Employment, and two greek partners the Regional Union of Municipalities of Ionian Islands and the Chamber of Lefkada. CRAFT-LAB project, financed under Priority Axis 1 – Innovative and Competitiveness, with a budget of about 1 Million euro, aims to promote entrepreneurship and job opportunities, by discovering and restoring the ancient arts and professions in the ceramic, mosaic and textile fields.
The project is addressed to the Greek and Italian young artists, designers and craft angels who will be the main characters of the “experience working labs”, that will be set up in six “residencies” located both in Puglia and in the Region of Ionian Islands, in Greece.
During the workshops, the training activities will give the chance to the young start-upper to discover the traditional arts and handicrafts, meanwhile creating a synergy with the innovative techniques.
The final aim will be to valorise the common artistic heritage between Greece and Italy and to strengthen the cultural and entrepreneurial cross-border cooperation by building strong connections among artists and by creating new jobs and associations in the craft sector.

Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme is an European Territorial Cooperation Programme that aims to help public institutions and local stakeholders to develop cross-border projects and pilot actions and to create new policy, products and services, with the final goal to improve the citizens’ quality of life. Strategically, the programme will enhance innovation in a number of fields such as blue growth, tourism and culture, agro food and cultural and creative industries. Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme aims to get maximum return from EUR 123 million financed per 85% by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and per 15% by the 2 member states through a national co-financing.
